Return Of The Reliquary

she hurled a gasoline bomb at the spectacle and
ran into a church to hear the altar’s anguish
as bombs exploded

she heard laughter behind her as she pointed at the
bones encased in gold and glass
it can’t help her it’s gone away forever

she sat down in the aisle and watched
she beheld 2 women walking towards her
she was carried in their arms

into a vapor where she felt healthy temporarily
wood for an animal to be burned for slaughter
beneath the 2 x 4 constructed frames

stems grow from the ground
looking for the aroma
contortions in exile exhaled
